Single Scoop: Mono Red Phoenix (Historic, Magic Arena)

Gameplan

The deck is all about firing off a ton of cheap spells much like the Izzet version of Arclight Phoenix but we get to be a bit more explosive thanks to our prowess threats and Kiln Fiend

$ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00

These two creatures combined with spells like Crash Through means we're going to try to close out games before turn five. With all the spells we're casting, we're hoping to have these threats backed up by a bunch of flying phoenix as we have numerous ways to discard in Faithless Looting, Lava Axe, Thrill of Possibility, and more. Of course, we sacrifice the consistency of the Izzet version for a huge glass cannon so this deck folds to a deck packed to the brim with removal.

Conclusion

This version isn't as powerful as its modern counterpart as we don't have any spells like Lava Dart or Manamorphose but we sure as heck tried and we actually ended up winning a decent amount of games. For a deck like this to work in Historic, we're going to need a lot more cheap and free spells. For now, this is just a greedy pet deck that is hoping to catch an opponent being relaxed about removal.
